About Us
GISMO is a user-oriented group of professionals from NYC agencies, universities, public and private organizations using or learning to use mini- or micro-based Geographic Information Systems. GISMO is also a forum for sharing geocoded data and data processing techniques, software training, news from GIS publications, meetings, vendors, etc. Bring copies of items of interest. Significant networking has developed and is encouraged. GISMO meetings begin as informal lunch sessions. Formal meetings come to order at 12:30. Come for as long as you can. (Sandwiches and drinks are provided by the Fund for the City of New York.)
PARTICIPATION IS ESSENTIAL TO A VOLUNTARY ORGANIZATION
We need people to participate in GISMO presentations, mailings, the web site, our member database, the annual applications fair, to attend and report on conferences, classes, and subgroup meetings, and to act as software mentors. Just about anything you can think of--if you have the time, we'd love to hear from you. To find out how you can help, review our Projects and Committees page, or come to a meeting!
